About Us

Clydesdale ARC

A rowing club for everyone.

Clydesdale ARC is based at the West Boathouse in Glasgow Green.

With a strong focus on equality, diversity and inclusion. Our mission is to make all the fun of rowing accessible and inclusive, along with contributing to the river community. We aim to provide a warm and welcoming environment for all so rowing can be enjoyed to the fullest. No one should feel like rowing is not ‘for’ them.

Clydesdale ARC supports different levels of involvement, so whether you are interested in casual participation or competing at Henley or World Masters there is an active squad and support for you.

Learn to row with us.

We run introductory programmes for novice rowers (young people and adults) so you can experience rowing for the first time. These programmes are run by Andrew our Community Coach.

Building links and partnerships.

We think of ourselves as both for and of the local and river communities, building links and partnerships within those communities.

To support the networks of people invested in positive social change, contribute positively towards society, and to provide opportunities for individuals to empower themselves.

Our Values

Person-Centred Openness

We support each individual member, by working with you to find the approach that best suits you, to help you achieve your goals. The person-centred approach, aims to help break down structural barriers to participation and open up access to all of the physical and mental health benefits of rowing, competitively and non-competitively.

Success Beyond Medals

We are proud of our achievements, both on and off the water; Clydesdale is defined by its members and our success is shaped by the accomplishments of volunteers, officials, friends and members. We are privileged to be part of bustling local and river communities and to be actively engaging in outreach with those communities.

Providing a Welcoming Environment

We are fully committed to delivering an accessible and friendly environment. Each club member shares responsibility for making the boathouse an open and inclusive environment to existing and new members, as well as the wider community.

Fun and Diversity

The West Boathouse is an open, safe place for all. We are committed to providing an environment that is fun and enjoyable for all, as well as one which encourages and celebrates diversity; it is central to our success as a club.
